Wow, you actually get less than we do?
I think we get about 12 days a year - that includes Xmas & Easter holidays.

Here in the U.S., the days banks are closed is regulated by legislation. Which doesn't allow a bank to close its doors (holiday or otherwise) for more than 3 days straight. Thus, when Christmas falls on a Tuesday all those poor bank employees in the U.S. are at work on Christmas Eve.

Whew! I guess I'm a lucky sod, then!

I get a total of 4 weeks off each year, plus 1 week personal vacation:

2 weeks at Christmas
1 week in March (Spring Break)
1 week in Mid-July
Memorial Day
Labor Day
Good Friday
Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday (which makes 1 extra week if you add up all of those from Memorial day)

and 1 week of my choice.

Pays to work in Education.

onthepequod,
Isn't it neat?
Just think...my job IS remodeling at home!
Well, add sweeping, mopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry and taking care of 22 animals LOL and it gets to be like work some days but today I got to go get the wood to make the window awnings for the front of the house, I put shelf braces on the wall under my window and am waiting for the pecan poly-stain to dry on the shelf I cut so I can put it up and bring my meager assortment of new houseplants in here for evening sunlight.
There are two windows in this house that get sunlight...(at least the portion I live in)...the laundry room in the morning and my room in the afternoon/evening. Going to trim some trees and work on that...a constantly dark atmosphere gets depressing and the dark wood paneling doesn't help it any.
(Going to work on that too but later this year or next).
I also got all the crud out of the last 8 window panes on one side of the house today and have just enough glazing to finish the job LOL! I had to stop to make dinner and clean up and now it is my time to rest...for a few anyway, I am still going to fold one load of laundry and start another before the night is over. sigh A woman's work is never done!
