LILYBLACK (She pulls the portal lens out of her backpack, activating it. Instantly she disappears. Reappearing before the twin of the lens in her shadowed apartment in an odd area of Korup-Shun, she carefully places the lens back in her small, leather knapsack, where it resides in a special pocket. Throwing herself on the bed, she considers carefully her next plan. The defenses of the place are formidable, she thinks, but not so much as to keep her from sneaking in there. Ah, she knows wehere she must go for advice. Reaching into a hidden drawer, she finds a different portal, a mechanical one. Smiling at the inscription on the side, she moves several levers in prescribed ways, and she again disappears from the apartment. She reapppears at the base of a tower far to the south, where liana vines twiner around the tower. A small, neat man turns to her with an eager look on his face. "So," he says,"you have returned to me, after all, Lilyblack."

Isaura

She directs her gaze to Sorsha, taking in her appearance as she runs Legolas' words in her mind ~ My sister? ~ Her trembling right hand extends to hold Sorsha's left wrist ~ "You are my sister?" ~ Yet she seems to feel nothing for me... ~ For some unexplainable reason, she feels an ache in her heart. Nearly choking, she looks away and her voice chuckles unsteadily ~ "Why do I feel no sisterly bond, then?"

Sorsha

To her dismay, she finds herself growing resentful towards - of all people - her supposed sister. Struggling to find her own voice, she is aware that it sounds unnatural - at times too high-pitched, at times, so low that perhaps the others do not hear ~ "Feelings take time to grow..." ~ Steady yourself, Sorsha; you need her help. ~ Darting a glance at Legolas to gain confidence, she resumes ~ "We have been separated for so long that I did not know I even had a sister... in fact, I had not known anything about my birthright - much less yours - until events of late." ~ Breathing heavily ~ "Unfortunately, time is not in our hands to play with, and the country needs a ruler." ~ Hurrying on ~ "Will you be the one?"

Isaura

Catching the eagerness in the young girl's voice, her eyes narrow ~ "Why are you in such a rush for me to assume this role?" ~ Voice hardening, clenching her fists ~ "Because you do not desire it, do you?" ~ It is a rhetorical question, and she notes Sorsha's evading eyes ~ "It is a burden which you do not desire. And you want me - almost a complete stranger - to carry it. Is this fair?" ~ Her voice rising ~ "It seems to me that selfishness and not sisterly concern, plays the major role here."

Sorsha

Frustration and anxiety now drive her towards such a peak of feverish despair that her whole body is shaking with an effort, ironically, to calm herself down ~ "You are the rightful heir to the throne, do you not hear that?" ~ Her heart pounding rapidly as she stammers on ~ "You... you spout such a load of accusations that are no less unjust than what you perceive mine... to be." ~ Icy hand reaching for Legolas' ~ "I... I don't care what you think of me... you're right... I don't want to be a queen... if you don't want the responsibility, then you'll find someone else. Not me!" ~ Wretchedness grips her as she flings herself onto a nearby pillar. She sobs miserably, aware that his esteem for herself must surely sink under this show of weakness and irresponsibility.

Isaura

She watches at the sobbing figure, her heart torn between guilt, irritation and scorn ~ "Both of you have brought nothing but more unhappiness to me." ~ She finally states, as emotionally drained as Sorsha ~ "I ask you, is this not too much for an amnesiac to bear?" ~ Staring into space in a daze.

LADY GALADRIA(She listens to the discussion with only half an ear, as it were. She is only cognisant of the debate raging in her breast. To stay, or to go? She feels the growing desire to be out of this city of hate and fear. Only duty has kept her here, so far, but duty seems to be tugging her to the North. She finds that she no longer cares about any of this city's sordid doings. Wearily, she breaks into the conversation) "Sorsha, Isaura, hush! Nothing is going to come of this bickering. If Isaura doesn't wnat to become a queen, I don't see why she should have to. Isaura, come on, let us be gone. I never want to hear of this city or its environs again. Me for the open trail and the foe that shows himself before attacking. I shall leave this city today, and take anyone who wants to go." (She looks about the room.)

He knows that Isaura would not agree to be queen this day. If they ever wanted to convince her, they would need to stay with her a while. He also knows he prefers travelling alone with Sorsha, but she herself had said that could wait until after this was over. It would probably be for the best if they went with Isaura a while now and stop talking about ruling the country, at least until Isaura would trust them, and maybe feel that sisterly bond.

"Lady Galadria, I feel you are right. Many would like to see one of Gareth's daughters on the throne, but it is ultimately not the desicion of the people. Let us forget the subject, for now.
But although I don't know where you are headed, we would be glad to accompany you on your journey. It seems a paladin's life is full of action and I'm sad to say I seem to have missed out on that the last time. I do not plan on making such a mistake again."

He squeezes Sorsha's hand to reassure her he hadn't forgotten why they were here.

"Let's gather the others in your party."

OOC: We're getting a new computer today (Yay

), and I have no idea how long it'll take before everything's in proper working order.
In the mean time, Legolas will likely tag along with Galadria's group although he'll ultimately abide by Sorsha's desicion. Ni Deng will probably go where Addison, Kishin and Skye are, and the bird continues to follow Legolas...

Addison sits up straight and stretches his back. He has been monitoring the events through a small silver mirror he uses for scrying. The impending arrest by Constable Isaak, the arrival of two "new" members who seem to be old friends with Lady Galadria, Sir Blandamour's dragon quest, and the events at Steeplewood have all been watched closely. He has not left his room because he is still waiting for Kishin to help restore Skye's memories.

Now, however, it seems the lady paladin is ready to bolt for the open road again.

He leans back, sighing heavily, and scratches the head of his faithful pet, Skrith. He takes a few moments to decide which course of action to follow, then he stands up and heads downstairs.

As he meets the group, he bows his head in greeting to Legolas and Sorsha. "Greetings good friends. I am Addison Sinclair, a new companion to Lady Galadria and her company."

He then turns to Galadria.

"So, we are to be off again before the local authorities come seeking us, eh. I must admit that I'm a bit surprised. I thought paladins were sworn to uphold and....adhere to the law, not run from the consequences of reckless actions. Ah well, I suppose discretion is the better part of valor in this case. Our enemies within this city are numerous and their numbers are growing."

"Where to then, mi'lady. Perhaps the North to help slay a dragon?"

Sorsha

She stands silently, closing her eyes and awaiting for the signal to leave. Legolas' grasp gives her much comfort amidst the group, for Galadria's remark to Isaura had shown one thing - she is now closer to this sister of hers, and not herself. What a difference a few weeks can make!

It is alright... I have Legolas. ~ The voice seems to chant over and over again as they wait for whoever else to join the band before it leaves for a new adventure. Sighing to herself ~ This certainly is not a good start for Isaura and myself...

She surveys her companions emotionlessly, her heart as worn out as Galadria's ~ Why are we inviting this lot of people anyway? ~ In truth, she has now grown weary of humans, for they not only utter gibberish, but place high demands on her and sometimes display fickleness.

I really wonder if it is a blessing, that I cannot unlock my past...

LADY GALADRIA (to Addison) "Indeed, Paladins are sworn to uphold the law, but also to detect evil and to act uprightly. To mine nostrils, the stink of evil is thick about the laws of this city, and when the law itself is evil, one of my Order may oppose it. Come along, all that wish. The high road to the North is open to us, and we shall journey to the halls of King Beresfor of the Peaks!" (She gathers her scant belongings, and strides to the stables. She is surprised when the ostler tells her that the Order has paid for horses for all of her party. She helps Isaura up onto her palfrey and then mounts Gold Top. Spurring the warhorse, she trots to the gate and out of the City.)

~What have I done to deserve this? - first my contact within that ******* Order leaves without so much as a goodbye - then the other one just leaves as well. Why can't I just be allowed to go home? - but noooo - I have be act as a contact and have to stay among them. And now I'm going on another fools errand. Some God must really hate me.~
