North Korea is just trying to cut themselves a good deal on the international stage, like money and food, which are things they lack quite a bit. They are a wolf with no teeth, just a lot of howling, nothing else.

Acyually George Tennet (CIA-supremo) yesterday (or the day before) testified to the US Senate that NK had missiles capable of reaching the US Wast Coast - so they're not quite toothless.

But I agree with you on the 'deal' part

The declassified information about their possible weapons delivery potential was released last year. Not quite toothless, no, but since they haven't tested a nuclear device, and since they haven't tested the delivery device in question, I don't think we have to worry about them lobbing one today.

The matter was brought to the UN Security Council yesterday, so we don't have to "jump the gun" about the danger NK poses. We should have another 12 years or so before anyone starts arguing over any real action on this issue.

Maybe we should invoke the emergency defense powers of NATO for member nations to defend the West Coast of the US. If we start the debate on whether or not to protect a member now regarding this, maybe we can actually get some help by the time we need. Of course it all depends on who you ask...
They may have such a missile, but they lack the technology. They haven't got a clue what it will do, it might just as well explode right in their own faces. And they don't have any friends who'd share technology with them either. Basically this is just a cry for help. But i don't think they'll get much help if that hardcore communist regime stays in command. Too bad, the Korean people deserve better than that.

If North Korea attacked us out of the blue, their land would be a large smoking crater.

I can't.

They know what is going on.
