I'm sincere when I say I am thrilled to see attitudes beginning to change. All too often it is so easy to just automatically assume that the other person is attacking you. Thing is, I doubt they actually treat others that way face-to-face. I would add to the "Seek the innocence in others" with "Act as if the other person is directly in front of you." People, I believe, are less prone to be that overtly confrontational when things are more personal (spacewise, I mean), and are probably more willing to try to negotiate.

I was saddened to hear that you were forced to take a leave-of-absence because of the board's attitudes. it's great to have you back, Saz.

I think this is a great rule of thumb. I think we would definitely act differently if we were face-to-face with people.

I once read an article about the lack of accountability on the Internet. People act the way they do because they cannot be held accountable for their actions. The 'net allows for anonymity, which many folks take advantage of.

Another rule of thumb: Imagine what your mother would say if she read what you wrote here.

Well I know the thing without negativity is hard, but then I wouldn't want that...

These are the things that tie me to the ground. I brush them off, my insecurities by just looking on the bright side. I lose negativity, I lose my connection to thee ground and thus making me transform into an arrogant monster. The good thing about my negativity leash is, it can go on any length without any disturbance (at least now).

To make a long story short, I can't do what you are saying because it is the very aspect of me that makes me go on living.. weird but that's how I feel.

Anyways, finding innocence... I am saddened with my results so far. I have been doing this... and people refuse to even show their real side a bit, maybe in fear of being rejected, fear of being different.

Those who accept that in someway they are still innocent are the ones who are real, and the ones that have an easier journey to live just for being posistive, as acceptance I believe can lead to positivity.

I think I have made a complete fool out of myself...

Mmmm, very philosophical Rudy (ah gawd, song going thru my head again!)
I decided a few months back that I was gonna live my life by some basic principles, not as thought out as you, but basically to live my life as if each day were my last and not have any regrets. Been a lot happier since, that's for sure. OK, I've become a bit of a hedonist in the process and a bit impulsive. But I don't let anything hold me back. Everything I do, even if it doesn't work out the way I plan, is a positive experience and teaches me something.
Go for it mate!

I believe that it all comes down to accountability.

When you die, how you feel about your life will come back to you.
Will you regret what you have chosen? Or perhaps what you could have done?

I do not want to look back on my life feeling that I could have done better.

If we all lived with the end in mind, perhaps we would treat people differently.

Read your post with great intrest rude....will think long and hard about it...i always felt that the best thing in the bible was about treating people how you would want to be treated....i felt i have lived my life like this....that is basically what you are saying right?
I myself am not perfect however and on occasion i take a hairy fit as we say here...i will take heed of your words and try counting to twenty instead of ten from now on

I liked your analogy about the negative/positive poles. At first I was thinking "sorry, RudeDawg, but negative thoughts are part of life--they just happen" but then I realized that you are not going to dwell on those negative thoughts. Would that more people make that same attempt.
Belle and I live in an area just full of people who carry around negativity all day long. It shows in the way they drive, the way they shop, even the way they act in restaurants. I can assure you that we don't have that kind of negativity and we have a lot more fun than they do!

Keep up the insight!
