If we really wanted to make ziroc work we would suggest that only posts on the game forum count and only if they actually provide insight or answer a question.

Absolutely. Don't know if that's possible though.

BTW I have answered my fair share of game questions, Raistlin.

Memnoch, you are mostly right, at times "having to wade through spam" can become an annoyance. But ! How do you want objectively differentiate between posts, especially between the ones that fall under either C or D of your categorization ?
Do you want to set up a jury to judge questionable posts ? So while your analysis is accurate, I do not think it will help very much in terms of solving the problem, if there is so much of a problem in the first place. People will read your post, agree with you, but most will simply not identify themselves as "guilty" of spamming even if they had reason to. Just look at the responses to this thread.

I would rather trust in CB's forecast to become true. Just wait and see. If things have not toned down within a couple of weeks, we will have to adress the problem again.

On a much more serious matter: never dare to lay your filthy hands on Choc
again ! Do you hear me ? Otherwise I will call PETA and then all these supermodels they used to have in their anti-fur ads will come to haunt you ...
wait a minute ! This was supposed to be a warning not an incentive. Damn it !

Well i believ i rather be a Drow-wolf than drow warrior =D Just kidding ok, donīt go chopping of my tail here..

Well it seems that since most people from the old board moved here the Generl area has been gathering point to many and well as such it is great, and well alot of new people have come to the board answering questions at the BG forum. i try to be of good use but mostly I am beaten to it and since I donīt want to add useless crap to most I donīt post.. As well for the posting numbers...

Iīll never beat Cloudy anyway so I donīt even try! LOL

Well i think the names are funny, but I donīt live by them so if they cause this Hysteria for posting rubbish, take em away..

Ramon, I'm not saying that at all. All I'm saying is that people should use their judgment when they post. I trust that members of this board have enough commonsense and sense of responsibility to avoid posts of the D category. Of course you can't categorize posts because they are by nature subjective. I'm telling people how I categorize them.

Aah who cares! How do you define meaningful conversation anyway? Stuff that makes you think? Is not humor affecting the brain? Doesnīt pointless banal chatter serve as a release at the time from some more mundane aspects of life? We donīt have to read the spam, nor contribute to it. Itīs just like the small talk at a party, rather than the deep and meaningfuls after most have gone home.

Deep and meaningfuls all the time can be mentaliy exhaustive.

Itīll regulate itself soon enough.

Donīt YOU take this the wrong way Ziroc. Try and imagine me slinging this in an offhand, dissmissive sort of way. Love your work!

Ziroc,

Not to offend anyone , but I have been a little bothered by the really inane wasted space. Yes, everyone, me, worried about spam.

I don't mean the chats...(simmer down, Yorick! ) I mean the RACE FOR stars. I didn't get mine because I WANTED to race for them, I just joked about it. We all know I'm a gabber, so it shouldn't surprise anyone I got stars fairly often. Ziroc, I don't find anything wrong with rankings, so long as everyone takes them for what they are... a little light humor, not some BADGE OF HONOR to be won or stolen, like they have to compete with anyone of higher ranking. Joking about it is fine, doing it is another matter. And adding levels early on may be incentive not to RACE to the later ones. Good idea!

Erg...uh, I just ranted...sorry about that...
We now return the other Cloudbringer to you...

Body Snatchers bringing choc back too..hehehe

I must admit that I feel like I am being left behind, and that people will see my rank as a member and just go, ahh...he don't count, he isn't even worth listening to. Yet, I have never nor will I ever write a bunch of false posts just to gain that desired rank...If I answer any post or create one, it will be with good intention.

Larry, do not worry about that. I have yet not seen that happening here.

And why should we worry about our ranks after all ? Knowing the web, there will be a Ironworks Forum Rankings hack out there within days , probably called "Ironkeeper". And from there on, people with high ranks will be looked upon as morally questionable.
