I'm not the smartest at computers so here is a queston.
Is it better for me to upgrade my memory from 64 to 128 or to buy a bigger harddrive(I'm running out of space)? I hope this isn't a stupid question. |

It depends on the problem you have.
Increasing the system memory is one of the easiest way to improve the speed of your system. Increasing the hard drive will help if you are running out of storage space, or if you want to do a full install of a game (like BG2, etc.). If your current hard drive is large enough (5 gigabyte or more), you might just need to defragment the drive. This is a command in the windows, accessory, system tools, menu. It makes your hard drive more efficient by removing "wasted space." If your system is older and in need of upgrading, I would do both if you could. A 20 gigabyte hard drive will cost you around $100. This should be pleanty big enough for games and such. An additional stick of memory, 128MB ram, will cost you around $100 also. I don't know what your system is or what your budget is, but I hope this helps as a start. |

Hi Umgar!
Well Ithink you could really use some more RAM, you will notice an overall performance, also try to empty these folders in windows catalouge: TEMP - safe to delete everything in it! Temporary Internet Files - Same here! toss it out! Cookies, all but the first file you can delete. Try do defrag it and do a little maintanence on it. Good luck! ------------------ Do electric wolves dream of electric sheep? |

I need to upgrade from 64 to 128...
Most games prefer running with that, and you don't get nearly as many "stutters" in games ------------------ "Watch your back" - Sylent Master Theif of the OHF |

Hi!
128k ram is definitely preferable, but it isn't much good if your system is too old to really handle it. Father Bronze has the best advice, I think. Cloudbringer ------------------ Storm-Queen Purple Rose of the Black Knight |
