Were the other kittens racists?

Re: New addition to the family!!
I think colour dictates a lot of the character. My current cat seems more afraid of the new one than the other way around. I'm glad she doesn't know that "she" the claws and the other does not.
The new addition has eaten very little since yesterday. I don't know if it's the food or if it will just be a matter of time. I should have asked the person I got her from what she eats. That way, I could switch her off it slowly. She has eaten a little of the dry stuff. Any ideas, or suggestions?

Re: New addition to the family!!
Well, first, try and contact previous caretaker, the shelter or whatever. And as you said, gradually shift her to the stuff you usually buy, first with entirely what she's used to then gradually mixing in a larger ratio of what everyone else eats.
Alternate reason could be nerves. Our dog hates it when we leave her at the vets/pet resort for even a day or two. For as long as a week she could be out of sorts due to the stress. So it could just be having to reestablish what's normal.

Re: New addition to the family!!
She had a little of the dry food again and I will keep her in a separate room tonight with the food.
I make their food, so obviously it will be different from anything bought. I find they are much healthier.

Re: New addition to the family!!
Here's Missy,
I thought of changing her name to "Diver" since our other cat is "Scuba", but Missy fits her.

She's a beautiful cat! Definitely check out the food she used to eat but it sounds like she's at least trying what you gave her!

Yes, she's having the dry food and some of the home made stuff make for the dog and other cat.
Scuba has been scamming her food though. I'm gonna go out and buy a water gun. Maybe Felix can give me some lessons with the water gun!?

Re: New addition to the family!!
Nice looking cat Very interesting eyes... is that the light, or are they that uniquely colored?
No thoughts on incorporating her into life... I'm more a dog person, so my thought is that when she's hungry enough, she'll eat...

Re: New addition to the family!!
I think the eyes were due to the flash. It was dark in the room at first and I couldn't even see her eyes.

Re: New addition to the family!!
Actually, cats differ from dogs in that respect, Bungleau! A cat will starve rather than eat something it doesn't recognize or dislikes the sight/smell/taste of. My vet told me that years ago when she was keeping my cats while I went abroad. They had a hard time getting one to eat and had to break down and feed him cheeseburgers to get his 'eating motor' started! And he was the one who didn't like 'people food' to start with.
