finding giant crabs

I am having a hard time finding giant crabs for the giant conch shells.i set my spawn to often at the computer icon but only found three crabs two of those disappeared after i killed it,but i got one(big deal) any help would be great....thanks

That's the only method I know, Warlock7.
Maybe you could swim out farther into the open ocean areas along the shorelines. I hate it when they die & don't drop shells! I did not have that happen often but I hated it when it did!

What I did was just sail my ship near the shore (though not around the Talrik's area) and whenever my scout would say there had been crabs in this area, we'd jump overboard and go looking for them. DIdn't take that long to get more shells than we needed.
Others have also commented that you can try to pickpocket shells from the crabs too. Try that!
