I have the game loaded on my family's pentium II and it has a similar problem, where the sounds just keep repeating over and over once in a while. I loaded it on my newer pentium III laptop and it doesn't do it on there... that probably doesn't help you though, sorry...

My nasty suspicious mind says blame Microsoft (it usually works0 and check out the direct x driver for ur sound card. in the unlikley circumstance of it not being microsofts fault (could happen) it could be a conflict tween your com port (or ps/2 or USB) and you cound card - go into control pannel and check.

do what? check directX?
there a program called DXdiag which usually ends up somewhere on the system when you install directX. find it (start -> find -> DXdiag.exe) (easier way. anything modern by lucasarts can run this automatically. maybe bg2 can as well. i dunno) it in windows/system on mine. anyway go to the sound tab and check for errors. what soudcard do you have anyways. the conflict? go to My Computer - > Control Panel -> system and go to the sound card section. double click on your soundcard and see if there is a conflict listed. i dont really think thats it tho but it is possible. you might want to go to blackisle.com and read their tech faqs, sometimes its not the driver or hardware but something in the game setup. in which case youll end up editing an ini file or something. good luck |
