Right. I need to get in the prison, get her out, and get out myself. Is there any way of doing it simply? Getting out is no problem (a scroll of intervention) but getting in is a bugger. I know, invisibility potions, but does anyone know where I can buy decent ones? I have a scroll of invisibility and 2 standard potions. Will that suffice? If not, where can I get more, potions preferably? Also, when I use the scroll and go through a door, my character is no longer ethereal which symbolises invisibility. Does that mean its expired? I don't think the guards paid attention...

Any help greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Oh, I use the PC version if that has any referance...

I don't know if you ever tried creating enchanted items, or better paying an enchanter to make you an item.
I bought a ring with a permanent invisibility. It isn't as strong as it sounds because every action, like opening a door, equipping anything or picking something up dispel the invisibility, but it is my favourite item. Certainly because you can re-equip it and you're invisible again.
Works wonders up in the prison. Just right click the moment you step through a door, re-equip the ring and you can traverse the entire prison without a problem.

how high is your sneak skill? you can sneak all the way to mehra milo.

or.

run run run up to where mehra milo is. go inside and teleport out immediately. This is faster.

Hm, that ring sounds good. Can you remember where you bought it?

You'll only need to be invisible until you reach the large area where Mehra's cell is - ie only while travelling up the passages to that door. So your potions/scrolls should be plenty. It doesn't matter if they see you while in that area, at least it didn't for me. As long as you don't kill any of the ordinators, noone outside seems to be upset by it. When you get in the large room, levitate over to the three cells (also helpful if you can get the right one first - of course I had to go in all of them before I found her . LOL unfortunately I can't remember which one it is - not the middle one ).

if memory serves, its the one on the right. an invisibility ring is usually cheaper to make by an enchanter if you first charm spell them. its probably one of the best item to have for any situation.

from the prison door, go straight, the mehra cell is either 1st on the right on 2nd. running is still faster and it's okay as long as you don't attack anyone.

I think he ment that he bought the enchantment on the ring. Buy an exquisite ring or amulet and the spell then find an enchanter. Before making the enchantment, get his disposition up as high as possible. That'll make it much cheaper.
Besides that, I agree with Aelia that levitating is the easiest way to get around in the prison area.

I think My solution was a LOT more expensive, but it worked well.

I had a large collection of golden saint soul gems, and I tend to keep quite a few exquisite rings and amulets around.

So instead of invisibility, I had them all enchanted with varying degrees of chameleon as permanent effct. The advantage of chameleon in this instance is that it doesn't 'inactivate' when you perform an action.

I *think* they'll hold something like 10 to 40% each as constant effect items.

I equipped all three, left the inventory screen so they'd take effect, and immeadieatly went back to inventory. By mousing over the chameleon icon in the lower right corner, a menu pops up that gives you the power each item is running at. I often have to remove/re-equip one or another of them a few times to acheive 100%+ chameleon.

This allowed me to stroll around the prison totally undetected.

I also wore them in a couple of dungeons as an experiment. Most opponents can't see or hit you, make some remarks about how you don't fight fair, and try to run away.

For some reason, I didn't try wearing them when I went after Dagoth Ur, but I don't think they'd have helped in that instance any way...

Oh, wanted to mention there is a very useful item called 'Zenithar Whispers', can't remember where I got it, that casts 'charm' over and over at a pretty high level. Once charmed to 100%, merchants and enchanters ususally stay that way. Makes having items enchanted much cheaper. At this point, almost every merchant in the game likes me 100%.

And remember to 'barter' with the enchanter before you have an item enchanted. That way, the money you pay is credited to them [otherwise, their money stays pegged at their normal amount]. Most enchanters will buy anything except alchemy ingredients or potions, and you can sell them daedirc or ebony items that would otherwise be too expensive for anyone to ever buy [making such items functionally worthless]. Its also a good time to get rid of any excess charged soul gems...
