If I choose Disable Smilies in this post, down below...does that mean that you cannot put smilies in here? Why would we have that option?
Why would anyone wnat to use it?

Interesting...only my smilies are disabled upon checking the box. I gues if someone was flaming somebody, and a moderator wanted to disable the smilies such as , then they could...without bleaping the words, or something...

Yeah - people who don't like funny graphics and a spanking perfect page, with just text.

Heh! Strange people out there.........

I've wondered about that myself, and came to the conclusion that it was in case a friendly conversation turned nasty and you wanted to take out the smiles in your previous posts, lol! j/k

I find that quite strange - taking BACK the smiles that you gave.

Or weren't you smiling in the first place?

I always wondered that too.. kind of a wasted option.. Instead of THAT option, give us 'Preview message'

the only thing i can figure is so if something you are typing has characters that would make a smiley but you dont want a smily
i cant think of any examples exept when i saw somebody trying to type iablo:
and it got a smiley,

It could be there because too many moving smilies could cause errors in the page and stuff..like causing the page to warp ..normally happens if there are too many moving .gifs too. It used to happen to be all the time back on the old board.

Why?
