My disaster du jour:

Have been asked by the temple to recover the "shoes of St. Rilm's" from Ald Salotha.

They aren't there: I did go through this dungeon before, but if I found them, I would have sold them to galbedier, the enchantress in Balmora: I sell her all enchanted items and books that Scamp won't buy, just so I know where they are if I should need them. Not in her inventory.

Odd thing is, if I cast a high level 'find enchantment' near the statue in the shrine, I do get a 'hit', but For the life of me, can't see WHAT is hitting: I have a bad feeling the shoes are displaced into the floor or something.

Any advice? Anyone know any codes that would re-set this or give me the item?

Thanks!

They should be in a chest behind the statue in the shrine.

Uh oh...

Cleared all the chests first time through...

Begining to suspect that they either 'fell through the floor' [explaining the false hit for detect enchantment], or Galbedir is WEARING them.

The only way they could fall through the floor is if you took them out of the chest, and then set them down somewhere and happened to be extreamly unlucky.

You could try
player->additem "shoes of st. rilms" 1
in the console.

In order to open console during game press the tild Key ~ then it will open the consol Window. Next print exactally like I do below with all spacing and puncuation.

player->additem, "shoes of st. rilms", 1

Then press enter and then check your inventory. If you did everything in order as above it will be in your inventory. then press the tild ~ key again to close the consol window.

Thanks guys: lifesavers, ya are...

I was right though: Galbadeir had 'em. I sold her a better pair [sanguine stalking, which I never use], and she coughed 'em right up.

Odd that I got that 'hit' for enchanted, but we all know this game is not without its bugs...

Speaking of which, the teleport woman in Ald Ruhn is sinking into the floor again. She's a little over waist deep, so I can still speak with her at this point. In my last game, I couldn't talk to her anymore once she was up to her chin, and a while later she was gone utterly: now THAT is a creative and interesting bug!

Does it happen to any of the rest of you?

have you use the console command TCL ?

Galbedeir is wearing those items you sold her because the value is high.

Yeah, I knew she wouldn't fork 'em over unless I offered her something better.

The only time I used any console command was for that rock that won't blow up in the dwemmer ruins: a tribunal thing, I think.

What does 'TCL' do?

TCL = toggle command line.

looks like you haven't use that yet. so I don't think that's the one that create the problem.
