Hello everyone, not sure if this is general knowledge and this SlowCloud just caught on or if it might be news and of use to some of you. [img]smile.gif[/img]

When you pm someone there are two ways to do it, find a post of theirs and use the pm button at the top of the post OR in your own profile area, click the BUDDY LIST option near top right of pm's.

If you have chosen people for your Buddy list they show up in a short list where you can click on the 'pm' next to their name and immediately send a note. This means not finding a post of theirs on the board first! A real time saver for people you pm frequently!

To make someone a Buddy, you find a post of theirs, click on the profile button and ADD TO BUDDY LIST is an option near the bottom right.
You can do the same thing if they pm you, there's an option to add them to the Buddy List.

So the Buddy List is equivalent to an 'address book' in a limited way.

There is also and IGNORE list which functions in pretty much the same way but won't allow any pm's to be sent to you from the people you place on the list.

It is, Cloudy! I hadn't worked out the Buddy List thing. Was a bit puzzled by it, to be frank.

I was hailed last night by some stranger who tried to tell me they got my name from some special interest list I'd placed it on. Uh, wrong! Specifically did not and certainlyon the list she claims to have accessed (country music or something)!

Other than that, AIM is great and low-tech enough even for me!

LOL, Garnet, that's funny! But sure do know what you mean about odd msgs! I get them on icq, usually spam and porn sites sending adds if you go visible for any length of time!

But YES, I was talking about PM msgs here! LOL
