With the cleric spell raise dead, or the rod of resurection, or goto a preist and hell do it for a price

Or...

with the "Debug=1" line under "Program Options"- read the cheats section if you don't know what I mean, you can press CTRL-R to ressurrect your character. Completely ruins the thrill, but walking out of the middle of a dungeon unable to carry all of your equipment 600 miles uphill both ways... is a drag too, especially if you have to budget time (in the real world). You're half god, just call it a "boon"

It may do. On the other hand, trekking to town, raising up, trekking back to the end of the dungeon to pick up your stuff may also ruin your game through boredom. It's all down to individual taste

AGREE.

Don't forget Harper Call, only Jaheria can use it though.

The point of the game is to be fun, not getting you bogged down and frustrated.
