After landing in Ft. Bliss today, the two Apache helicopter pilots left the freed members of the 507th Maintenance Btn to be united with their own families at Ft. Hood.
The recpetion at Ft. Hood is just huge! We considered driving up earlier today to be a part of the crowd welcoming them home and to visit our friends there (whose deployment to Iraq has been cancelled btw  ) but thought it would be more of a private deal like had been planned for Ft. Bliss.The number of people who showed to give their support and thanks for their safe return is amazing. I wish we would have gone. No matter your views on the war, everybody can agree on this. I'm glad to see these POW's can return safe and sound to their families on loved ones.
