Who do you think won last night's debate?

I'm going with Bush here.

Both candidates stayed very calm, and I think Bush stuck to his guns about the "flip flop" stuff a little too much.

Kerry sounded pretty good to the general listener, but he NEVER ONCE stated an actual plan of how to make things better. All he did was keep saying "I have a plan" and "It will get better under my leadership," but he never told us what that plan was.

If I were undecided (I'm not), I'd be very weary of voting for someone based on promises, with nothing to back them up on.

It seemed like all he tried to do was attack Bush, and that isn't a debate. Bush was constantly standing up for himself. I stopped watching after all the attacks I was seeing. Last nights farce of a debate reiterated my previous idea...I'm voting for Bush.

Oh come on, as if you were ever even considering to vote for Kerry. We know you longer than today, Morgan.

Missed the debate myself by the way, though I'm not sure if I've actually really *missed* anything yet.

I agree with the whole "I have a plan" line not having anything behind it.

If you have such a great plan, share it with us, Mr. Waffle.

I hope the undecided voters were astute enough to pick up on this.

[/QUOTE]Oh, I'm quite open to voting for the lesser of the two evils...hence my Bush vote. I was going for Dean all the way, but alas we know what happened there. I'm not a hardcore Republican or Democrat. I'm an Independant. I will vote for whomever I deem is the most worthy.

The problem as I see it is that Americans are overwhelmingly drawn to form rather than substance. The polls show Kerry won on points but the polls also show that the majority of Americans are with Bush on the positions he holds to. Go figure.

From any technical "debate team" point-of-view Kerry won. But, that doesn't mean he won on the issues, or that he's right. He was more prepared, had a better demeanor, did not duck the questions so obviously when he ducked them, did not pause or stutter too much or act flummoxed, and didn't complain so much about hard work. He also used JFK's trick of writing notes when Bush was making points -- which distracted Bush just as it does most debaters.

Morgan, a Dean man? My opinion of you just went up dramatically.

I felt Kerry won that debate.
