Why are Wizards/Warlocks not allowed to use a pick axe? It's impossible to play a game using only these characters if you want to be able to dig for dragon ore! I'm trying to get through my current solo game with only a Warlock. (Was going only for Wizard but remembered the importance of those 3 VALUABLE moon spells!) The only way I could get past the Beast of Bronze was to "carry over" Dragon Armor from my previous game.

You can finish the game without equiping those items. All you need is to carry the pick axe in your inventory and use it using the use/give option.

Also, you can get pass the bronze beast using one of those usefull Moon spell: vanish

Hope this helps

I tried to "use" the axe to no avail. Will try the vanish spell in next game but then I don't fulfill the quest for the Town Hall.

Yes you do! It just takes you to the top where the lever is. All you need to do for the town's quest is to pull the lever... you don't need to get the dragon armor.
