The first series of the modern BG came to aussieland a while back and i ended up catching 4 episodes. What can i say? How smeggin' good is this show? I loved it. So much so i went down to the local video store (60km away) and ordered the series on dvd. Which would make it the first ever TV show i've purchased. Should be pickin' it up on Monday and i'm lookin' forward to filling in blanks.

Anyway, to my question. Is there anyone here who doesn't like this show? For any reason? C'mon, don't be shy.

I new i could count on you lot.

Time to change the question though: What do you like about the show?

Me? Everything. An interesting plot, lots of well thought out characters, good acting and script (a rarity), nice visual effects and a theme that's not shy on tackling the deeper aspects of human politics and religion.

We don't get shows straight away down here, and i understand that the first season is already two years old in the states. Have they released the second season yet?

Smeggin' ell! There's something that doesn't happen everyday. Well, not down under at any rate. I guess that'd give you some insider knowledge on the plot then. But don't spoil me - i'm gettin' into this..

Hmm An e-bay challenge for you. Autographs of Starbuck and Dr. Baltar. And just to make it interesting, i won't tell you what they look like. jus' kidding mate.

I totally LOVE the new BSG! I think the writing is the best on tv at the moment! Ron Moore did Deep Space 9 as well, and I loved that show too.

The Dominion War was awesome!!

There is 22 episodes this season (season 2)!!! Awesome!

Looks like the producers are cranking it up a gear. Much goodness.

I know the first season comes on 4 dvds but i've got no idea how many episodes that translates to. Anyone?

"Battlestar Galactica has steamrolled all opposition. This is the remake we had to have."

For once i agree with those quotes you always see on box covers. Just picked up the first season an hour ago. In time for the weekend too, no less. Now, if you'll excuse moi...

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but i've a quick question for those who've seen it in the states: Is/was there a movie length premiere for BSG? I'm just wondering (and have been for a while) why the first episode of the first season has a "previously on" section. Have i missed something?
