While trying to get back into my shuttle model I've been working on what the original Phaser-I might have looked like if it was designed in the present day. I've reversed the overall color sheme and the rubberized black grip is removable.
Top - There's a display screen along with the main controls. The outline in the back is an access panel where the diagnostic conrols are housed. ![]() Bottom - and here you can see the trigger and the removable powercell: ![]() |

I've no idea whether that's a spacecraft or some slightly futuristic shaving thingy, but it looks great. I'd never have guessed that it was made by four mad men

It's a hand weapon, a phaser(PHASed Energy Recitification).

Is a phaser one of those electric zappy gizmos to stun people?

Yes, infact that's the exact definition in the old Star Trek Writers Guide . It's also a T.V. remote but the cost of tube replacement gets a little steep.
Thanks for the welcome and thanks even more for the kind words on the model. The shape is something that goes back to my Deluxe Paint III/Amiga days. It almost modeled itself but the textures were the hard part (I pretty much stink at that). Although I am quite pleased at how they turned out. Heres a couple more renders... A close-up of the display screen. Anybody have any TOS Movie era bridge display images? I'd really like to make it more inkeeping with what was seen in those. ![]() And here's an image of where the Mad in Four Mad Men comes from (according to some anyway). Way early in the design but here it is anyway. ![]() [ EDITED FOR TYPO ] [ 05-09-2004, 10:43 AM: Message edited by: Four Mad Men ] |
