Armisael:
Very powerful, very nice. Good to see you, as ladyz said. Understand entirely if you have other things to do now, though! Do pop by and let us know how things work out if you can. Will be thinking of you, good wishes winging their way to Melbourne as I type. Well, I'm more a prose person (in what I write) than poetry- so I won't toss anything into the ring. Goodness knows, I've written quite a bit to the forum already! |

Cats purring, Babies crying
Noise all around a Man stands in the Doorjamb trying to make it all end He's looking, hoping, pleading for silence He walks, runs, sprints away Looking for that place a place of loneliness, of nothingness He decides he's had enough a Shotgun in his hand provides a Permanent Solution of a Temporary Problem one last Noise. . . Then an Infinity of Silence. I have more, but I won't bore you with them now. I usually write to relieve stress, to convey my moods, or just to put my feelings into words. I was in a good mood the day I wrote this. I was in my grandma's house, writing for a contest for a 4-H project. Wrote this then burst into tears. No reason. It won. They asked if I needed to talk to someone. Hmmmm. . . BK |

*sigh* If I wasn't going to spend Valentine's day alone I would've wrote this to my girlfriend:
It's a love poem that I'm making up as I'm typing right now. Hope you like it When the sea is calm, the sun's warm set, I see your warming smile, My heart captured like flies in a net, My joy swept far for miles. Your grace and beauty strikes my heart, I whisper your sweet name, Like the sun and moon - we'lll never be apart, My lonely soul - you tamed. And when the stars are bright at night, I see your face up there, Fear dispelled with your warm light, Dancing............in the air. By Hell Lich Wah |

I've never claimed to be a poet and this is the only poem I have ever written. The day my wife moved out and I keep it as a reminder that that was the worst day of my life and I made it through it and everyday I should be thankful for everything I have and everything I am
Death It takes so many forms Which one will take me A gun, a rope, nature I hear it Something beyond me “Don’t struggle, I am here” Which one is it Darkness I will never know Why does this forum bring out the darkness in everyone? |

Moridin I don't feel that this board brings out the darkness in us...we all had bad experinces and i find it great that we all feel we can share these experinces with each other.

This is a poem I wrote that I ended up putting to music. (Moiraine actually has a copy)
____________________________________________ I liken you to a flame shining so bright and burning with a passion that lights up my senses all too soon fading leaving me with your scent drifting hints of the moment passing me by I liken you to a flame burning to touch but giving me light I liken you to the ocean wild and furious yet enticing and uplifting you follow me to northern reaches lochs and black seas to southern beaches bays and warm breezes you pervade all my worlds changing, rearranging me The oceans depth is yours many colours playing up and down I liken you to the rain breaking the drought and washing away the garbage of old leaving me with flowing rivers of my soul I know I should stay inside in and avoid you and so I watch entranced only to go out get wet and then curse your leaving ______________ |

Here's one I wrote for the Funeral of two friends of mine. It is actually a song, but don't have the tech to put my song on the net. Besides, I wouldn't want you all to start howling
It's the Miracle of Death That puts our Faith to the Test Our Friends are dead and gone we have to carry on and be our best. We loved our friends that much they know they had their faults but long ago Jesus Died For our Sins and now the place where they are in Is where we all want to go. We miss our friends It's time to find a place in our hearts and in our minds Of memories Of days gone past Of Friendships that will always last Our Dreams will never rest That's why we have to wonder The Miracle of Death BK |
