Some of you know that my sister resides in Hawaii currently. She told me that she rented and watched Pirates of the Carribean sometime in October, even though I know that the National release date for that movie is Dec 2.
She swears that she rented it froma legit renter store named "Clean Flicks Rental". Can somebody explain this to me?

Well I know in Macedonia you can rent Kill Bill "legally" from many video stores.
In some countries the antipiracy laws are not taken very seriously. |

Yes, but isn't Hawaii part of the US? I thought Copyright laws were pretty strict there.

Instant cassettes! They're out in stores before the movie is finished.

Hmmmm, aren't Clean Flicks the people who edit the movies and cut out all the "questionable" language and stuff?

Yes, and if it is true that they have had Pirates of the Carribean or rent since October as my sis suggests, then I want to find a way to turn them in. Does anyone know how I could contact for that?

A friend in Miami sent me a DVD of The Two Towers in June and it wasn't released until August. I'm sure it wasn't a legal copy, but this stuff happens all the time. Every subcontractor who gets their hands on the film to do their work, be it copying, editing, or reviewing (critics) has an opportunity to pirate it.

Not to mention the fact that Windows XP follow up "Longhorn" is already available in Malaysia. Microsoft was quick to say that it was an unfinished prototype of which some were handed out a couple of weeks before that. Nonetheless, the release date for "Longhorn" is 2 years from now.
