OK - I got HOW to work - have done the first bit, but when I return to the barbarian camp to go off to the Sea of Ice, the program crashes!

Anyone got any ideas - I have tried reloading from an earlier save - but no dice.

HELP!!!!

Have you installed the official patch?

Nope - looked for one - but all I could find was the IWD patches 1.5/1.6 - and I have first-hand experience of their effect on the game

Can you give me a link?

Thanks!

You can download the patch from this site: http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/iwd...files/patches/

BTW - The free expansion, Trials of the Luremaster, is also available on this site -- see my post in your other thread. I believe that installing TOL will also install the fixes included in the patch.

AAARRGH!!

I have downloaded the patch & installed it - this problem isn't mentioned as fixed in the readme - and they're right - it ain't.

Instead of just crashing out of the game, as before - it now takes the whole system down with it.

I have tried reloading from an earlier save - just in case I had a flawed save file - but no - worked through from 4-5 saves back (beginning of gloomfrost) and exactly the same happens.

I am seriously thinking of junking the whole game & going back to BGII! - at least that worked

Anyone have any ideas?

TecSpecs - PIII450/256RAM/Win98SE
Game version 1.41

Try disabling EAX sound and 3D acceleration.

If that doesn't work, try a complete reinstallation of the game.

Also make sure that all your video and sound drivers are current.

I have read around that reinstalling the game solves some problems. For some reason
I did not have too . But save your saved game files under a directory that doesn't get deleted. Micah,
I think you know how to explain where those are... :0

Peace skata

This is a completely new installation (- in order - IWD/HOW/patch). It simply refuses to go any further. I have reinstalled 3 times now and no dice.

AArgh!

I will try the sound/video options, & see if that works.....

Thanks to you both
