well we know the game was ment to be multiplayer. Lots of the annoyances stem from its multiplayer background, multipule conversations, ranged weapons more or less redundant ect. Those who have been folowing the development will have seen the screenshots were all the rest of the party and monsters are depicited. 4 years in development ment the game migrated from DOS to Windows and probally from running on a DX100 to its present incarnation. 3D support was a late addition and the wrangles between the various companies and HP have not helped. Activision have published it got their money and walked away. Pressur has forced HP to issue an unofficial patch but I do not think any amout of pressure will make them rework the game to be multiplayer. All we can do is drool over what might have been and enjot what we have.

I'm afraid I have to agree with xenotoca. Most probably the reason multiplayer was stripped from the game was that it would take too much time to get it to work. That reason will not have changed.
Apart from that a number of people on this forum are from Europe, and (at least for me) local telephone calls are not free like in the US. That makes playing multi-player games fairly expensive (unless you're lucky and have cable connection or something). |

this game is to small to be considerd for a
multi-play! A multi play of w&w would be like "you have just got in the to the Iron mine in BG#1, and that's the end of the game" triple the quests, towns, and make the monsters much harder. then it would be playable. |

Why bother? I don't play anything multiplayer, in part because I only get an hour (tops) of internet usage a day, and in part because I don't have the time or the interest.
