Wow! That seems like a long time to be fighting in one place no? What is the final reward for completing this Battle square marathon?

Also, when is too late to come back and finish the battle squares? I hear it is chapter 4. Is it just before entering chapter 4, or is it before ending chapter 4?

You can go back to the battlesqaure as long as you haven't reach kuldahar yet. that is before chapter 5. chapter 4 can still go.

a useful way of going about beating the tougher levels is using a lance or mace of disruption. a fighter can slice through demons and undead with these, and you don't fight much else
