Level 7

I know I should have some by now... but other than being able to summon my Dire Wolf there is nothing there, even when I donned leather armour to see if my chainmail was causing me my problems.

Correct me if I am wrong but I should have at least one healing spell by now shouldn't I?

This is the first time I am playing a ranger in a forgotten realms game ( B1,B2 and ToB, IWD and HoW... I have all finished )so I must admit Im kinda clueless at the moment.

*edited for spelling again *

Hmm, don´t remember the spell progression but if you have enough wisdom you will have a few spells I think starting from level 5...

Have you prepaired them?

And also, rangers don´t have any cantrip spells, only a few level 1 spells to begin with..

I knew they were not true cantrips, but I used that word for a lack of a better one in english My wisdom is 14 so that shouldn't be a problem either. and how do you prepare a natural / class atribute? You didn't need to in BG2 they just appeared when you turned high enough level. The handbook isn''t much of a help :-/

Well press key "B" too choose the spells you have available. Then you have to rest. From the spellbook youo can drag spells to the quickbar.

The ranger speels has to be prepaired as in ToB to be cast..

10 + spell level you need to cast. Thus, if you want full spell casting for your ranger, you want a 14 wisdom (they get 4th level spells max, so 10 + 4 is 14).
