Im only at the start of chapter 2 but can I expect the game to become less linear as I progress. At the moment the games got me on a lesh and ive got no freedom to go off and explore alternatives areas away from the main path. Do you get more freedom in later chapters????

Hehehe. You certainly got some linear replies there mate
IWD2 lets the storyline make all the decisions for ya which is a welcome change coz hey sometimes I need a break from the BG style RPing - too much thinking not enough hacking/slashing.

I really like IWD2, don't get me wrong, but occasionally it's SOOOO linear that it's frustrating.

Without spoiling, there's a place in Chapter 5 where I took the obvious exit and killed the monster there, before I did a bunch of much less obvious stuff, and therefore had to redo half the chapter.

Maybe that's just a programming bug, but it illustrates the example. IWD2's fun, but a pain in the tookus at the same time.
