Would you rather be stranded in a Desert.
PROS: It's never cold! CONS: It's very hot! Will get heat exhaustion Will get a tan (Tans are bad for your skin.) You feel all stinky and sweaty! You feel so so thirsty! Or rather be stuck in Artic Wasteland PRO'S: It's never too hot. You'll never die of thirst! Feel the wonderful crunch on the snow. CONS: Your legs, fingers, hands, etc will get numb. You'll have some mucas sliding out of your nose YECHH!!! You'll feel very very cold. I will choose the desert. I'll tell you why after I've seen some people reply to my topic.

I would have to say desert too. Not so much because of the temperatures involved (hot or cold), but because I would imagine that long hikes in one particular direction (eg, always heading north) would be more managable due to the flat surface of most deserts, as opposed to the vast chasms and unmanagable terrain in the Arctic.
Not just that, but the desert is actually cool in the evening so you would have very hot and very cool. Wheras I would imagine that the Arctic is just cold 100% of the time. Feel free to prove my theories wrong.

I'm gonna be contrary and go with the arctic. There's no great temperature amplitudes like in the desert, there's always water to be had, and I can just take cold a lot better than I can heat; hey, I live in Maine, that's a given anyway, right?

I'd say the artic winter, because for one I don't mind the cold, I enjoy it. And second, unlike the desert, you have plenty of water in the winter (the snow).

I'll say the desert, cuz its SO much better than being chilled to the bone. And besides, I'll just eat a cactus if I get thirsty |

Arctic. You can survive off of the water there, unlike in the desert where you'd have to find an oasis or something. Besides, if you have clothes, clothes can make you feel warm, but they can't make you feel cold

Let me just add that dying in the arctic would be a lot more tolerable; you'd slowly feel a debilitating numbness spread through your body as you drift off into a reasonably comfortable sleep from which you'll never wake up. In the desert, you'd endure hours of blistering and bubbling skin as the sun tears into you, dehydrating you to the point of insanity as your body temperature reaches about 45c and you finally burn to death. No, gimmie Sir G's northern Canada any day
