Okay, I joined two others in a group and we hit the hills near the Loch.. and out farther, and we each get a bear to attack, I am working on mine, and kill him--and they kill theirs. I loot my bear--I think it was a bear. maybe we were attacking Kobolds. it was late. Anyway, I got an 'Axe of the Wolf' a good level 10 axe my dwarf can use, and we have to roll for it. Well, I win it, and the other two RIGHT AWAY ask "can I have that".
NEITHER of them can use an axe! They just wanna sell it. Anyway, this happens almost everytime on a rolled item. "can I have it" even if they don't want it, they want it for silver. lol. grubbers! Post YOUR looting stories! Doesn't have to be World of Warcraft either! [ 01-19-2005, 06:24 PM: Message edited by: Ziroc ]

EQ. CB. I need one more orc pelt thingy for a quest. The rest of the group wants it because it looks cool. We have 1/2 a minute before respawn. After 28 seconds of bickering, the spawn comes out and whoops us. I am, however, 10 ft away, with a level 5 group who then kill the monster. I then take the older orc pelt, do /dance emote over the corpse of my ex mates and run away.

Theres a lot of b-net kiddies, but also a lot of good people. Awhile back in Duskwood I grouped with a guy to kil the ghouls (corpse eaters whatever) and I killed the one on him, and the one on my. He proceded to loot them both of quest items. This while I was fighting another one. I told him that was not the proper way to group/fight and left group. He was from a big guild. Funny I nded up grouping with him a few days later (with another from his guild) and he showed great defference in looting, was a big change. I actually think he learned so there is hope
As for rolling if I cant use it I dont roll. I'm an enchanter and probably should but your quality group people roll on what they can use. I'm an enchanter so I need stuff to rip inton componenets but still only roll if the item in question is cloth or I know everyone will only sell it. On my server there are 3 guilds that came from my previous game so we all tend to work together, we know the rules. Some dont, some learn, and some are to be avoided. Like the other day I cleared out a compound and as I killed the last guy a group (all same guild) came in and looted the chest. Yep I was pissed, and will remeber their name. In the end they only screw themselves. My friends get 14 slot bags

Yeah, I met some great people as well! I need to hook up with you! I'm running a dwarven warrior on Argent Dawn right now--level 13 currently. I'm near Ironforge again for trades.
Anyone looking for me, my name is "Bogamiel" Pronounced "boag-a-meal" I enjoy the RP servers the most, and stay in char as much as possible.

Number one reason why I prefer soloing as too partying: There is always some $^#^@$$ who sneaks ahead why we do all the fighting, and gets to the chest and steals everything good. And when we get good items, he asks for them.

Yeah. I know what ya mean. I too enjoy soloing at times when I wanna find loot to sell. Also, to adventure out into the lands. I'm lvl 13, and I walked all the way to the human castle (where those raptors are) and kept to the street, and avoided most of the monsters--just to check stuff out. then used the stone to go back. just like to go on jaunts every now and then.

So far I've played with mostly good players, especially in instances. People that don't need something often pass, or ask if anyone need before they roll.
There's just one story that really pissed me off. I was doing the Defias Hideout instance, and we get to a chest, we roll to see who get it, and I win with a 77, our conversation looked something like this: Dwarf roll 35 Luvian roll 77 Hunter roll 60 Elf roll 54 Luvian- I got 77, I won. (A patrol attack us and we kill them) Dwarf- So, who won the roll? Luvian- I did, with 77 Hunter- I don't remember who won, either, let's roll again. Luvian- I won, I got 77, just scroll back up in chat Elf- Oh well let's roll again I guess... Luvian- You can't just ask for a reroll everytime you don't win... Dwarf roll 80 Elf roll 67 Hunter roll 29 Dwarf- Cool I won! Elf- Gratz What's most frustrating is that I did most of the damage and killed about everything in that run. I didn't roll the second time they did because I didn't want them to think I accepted what they did. I would have left right there if I didn't need the quest badly. Oh yeah, I hate it too when I defeat all the ennemies in a camp to get to the chest/mine and while I'm fighting the last guy someone come around and get it.

They should flag chests as it is annoying. At least for 10 minutes, that way it can unflag in sync with the mob respawn to be fair.
Anytime I need something that someone just looted I offer to buy it from them. More often than not they will simply give it to me for free. I do the same. There are 2 ends to the 'loot for yourself' stick however. Enchanters can easily 'need' anything magical, and some of 'em therefore have the balls to ask anyone for any magical item that you cannot use when it drops in a team. If you refuse, then the usual response is 'But you can't use it'. But what pisses me off is they can't *use* it either. Yes, they can disenchant it and that allows them to rocket ahead and up their skill points X times the amount of people in a team but what about the rest of us? Magical items are the fastest way to make money as they always sell for silver at least. I can then go and buy some new trade skills with my newfound cash, thus upping my skills to at least try to catch up to a like-lvl enchanter. Skills do cost money and I think many people fail to see the big picture and act selfishly often. Good thing is as you get higher in level much of this crap fades off. /rantoff
