So while it's 1-1 in the "isn't this silly" saga, it's 2-0 in the "let's throw a wobbly cos those people don't agree with me" war.
Ya know Davors, I have no idea what you are trying to say here. Stupid is stupid, silly is silly, doesn't matter what the issue is and I am not waging any war so please explain yourself clearly and in a manner that I in my limited unsophisticated way can understand Please. Are you trying to make some kind of personal issue/point about me in this post?

They changed the name at a local meat shop as well. I got there every weekend and get a very well made burger. I always get a side of french fries.

Anyway the last time I went I asked for french fries and they said "you mean freedom fries?"

.......

"Whatever, just give me some freaking fries"

Sad I think. Much smarter way's to protest
Pity it's not happening over here so I could similarly protest in the same manner as they are, and tell them ever so kindly to shove their freedom fries and give me some French ones.

I agree that it is their right to protest though - but I am sure they will grow up and realise how silly they are being ........ well, ...... eventually .

I am looking for a cafe in an airport near an escalator. There seems to be lots of cafe's, and I am in an airport, but where the heck is that escalator

Let us celebrate the liberty of expression evident in this example.
If possible, I propose wine accompanied by light hearted music for this little soirée.

That is, if we can cease discussions for a moment to ponder how auspicious some regions are to have such things as liberty, and equality.

Anyone bring any Armagnac?

Hmm, well.. Here we don´t call it french fries, we call it pommes frites or pommes strips.
We don´t say french toast, (unless you are at a cafe that wants to charge you extra and look exclusive ) we say Fattiga riddare! Poor knights, very poor knights that can´t afford real food.

Apart from that, people have a right to do many things, so when I go to buy some piglet toys I will try to order some freedom fries next time I pass Mac Donalds.. Hmm, interesting.. sounds alittle Scottish.. would that then be er.. hehe, lets not go there...

Hey, there is still some work to do. What about french dressing, french window, french polish, french letter, french kiss ?

Americans like to believe that changing word is changing everything. Look how "Indian" got renamed into "Native American". Politically correct for sure, but won't make their massacre be forgiven. "Black" into "African American" ? Same thing, wont make the racism be forgotten.
