Howdy.
I'm just wondering whether IWD2 is more demanding on one's operating system than previous infinity engine games. I have a pII 400 mhz with 120 mb of ram (I'm only a poor uni student, can't afford an upgrade). Baldur's Gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal played smoothly with no glitches, but IWD2 recommends a 500mhz or better system wheras TOB only recommended a 266. So what I'm wondering is do you guys think IWD2 will run ok on my system, I'd hate to pay all that money for a new game (like I said, poor uni student) only to find it runs like a slideshow. Replies appreciated. It's not urgent though, IWD2 isn't due to be released here in New Zealand until the 19th or 20th of September so I've got about a week to decide (and save up ).

In the setup ther are options to make it run on an underspeced computer (300 MHz). You can lower sound quality, shadows, spell effects etc... so their should be no problem.
The game runs really fine with no lag even in spell intensive fights on this machine: P2 350 MHz, 256 meg RAM, voodoo 5500 with the last third-party driver(+/- the same as a Gforce 2). Looks like the exagerated system requirements are a marketing decision.

... just make sure your graphic card is compatible. i don't think there's an option to turn 3D effects off.
