fighter (can dual to thief)
bard
multi-class fighter/thief
druid (can dual to fighter)
mage
necromancer (can dual to fighter)

The necro in particular should prove to be quite fun and useful should I choose to dual him later, although I probably will not, since having a chaotic evil pure necro (no non-necro spells) is sort of a thematic decision.

I'm playing with max hp/level, on hard setting.

All in all this party with those conditions is a challenging and entertaining blend. I would recommend it, although it is a bit early to say (Vale of Shadows). Are there any suggestions from anyone on how to best utilize this party or get the most out of it in general?

Thanks,

perlninja

Drop the mage, keep the necro. 2 mages in a party is quite time consuming unless you're using a script, it's also hard to share spells between 2 arcane characters.

Oridinarily I would agree but: "pure necro (no non-necro spells)".

perlninja,
In my opinion, you'd do better to start the Druid/Fighter off as a fighter, and dual to druid when you have lots of HP, lots of ApR and 4 PP in a meelee weapon. (Level 9 would be a good point to dual over.)

Same story for your necro/fighter.

With all the magic you have in your party (yeah, go for it!) you might want to make the mage a mage/cleric multiclass (e.g., a Gnome Cleric/Illusionist).

If you are staying with what you've got, and you are doing HoW and/or HoF, my only advice is for you to let your fighters get to high levels in their original classes (levels 9 to 12+) before dualing over. I don't know what to do about the necro-to-fighter dc: a fighter sporting a mages HP is dead meat.

What's a party,
Without a song?
Bards ROCK!
Party on!!
