Cheat Codes

I just bought Heat of Winter, includes v6 patch. Tried the cheats and can't seem to get them to work. Pretty sure that I am typing them in right. Example: CHEATERSDOPROSPER:CreateItem(BOOK03);

Darn things don't seem to work. I edited the ini file cheats=1. All I get is a response saying nice try cheater. Does anyone have a clue as to what cheats work/what I'm doing wrong?

Jason, Hi I'm no expert on the cheat codes but is it Heart of Winter or Ice wind Dale. That you bought? no bother I can't Imagine them having cheats allready out for a game that was only released "yesterday". Just try playing the game first? I can't understand everyones reasoning for HACKING up a really fun game,especially if you just bought the thing? well I hope you find what you need non-the less, and please try not to take this as an insult. I just guess I don't understand some peoples reasoning???

SirGwayne, you are totally entitled to your views but try to understand that people buy a game to enjoy it. If cheating adds to that enjoyment, why begrudge them that? I don't cheat myself but realize that everyone has their own way of enjoying the game.

Jayson, you do realize that you need to put quotation marks on the item code eg "BOOK03" otherwise it won't work. Why not make it easier on yourself and download Dalekeeper. If you're going to cheat this early might as well take the easy road.

I went to the configuration screen last night to see whether or not I wanted to change something, and they have a box you can check or uncheck that reads: Enable Cheat Console...or something like that.

According to JESawyer, our fave programming dork at BI, cheats are not available yet. They plan to open them up soon with a small patch. Could be a few days or a couple of weeks. If you played the other games, this happened with BG and BG2 also.
So, you ARE doing all the right things. Now you just gotta have patience.

If you try to cheat using HoW, you'll get the message "Nice try Cheater". If they plan to open them with a patch, that's fine, but it doesn't work yet. It's not too hard to get through HoW without cheating tho. Worth a try til they put out a patch!
