Ok, just want to know how many of you guys have one and if they are any good...
If I get one, the game I have seen and liked the look of the most (so far) is mario 64 DS.
So are these things any good? I mean they aren't up to Nintendo 64 standard, but thats ok, because they are tiny and have dual screens
Also, what battery/batteries do they have?

they have a lithium - ion battery which last up to 6 - 10 hours depending on weather you are using pictochat aor have the sound turned up to the max.

Yeah i like my DS because it takes a fair bit of abuse as well.

You like it because it takes abuse? Is this some sort of fetish or what?

The DS is a nice little system, not that many games now but lots more on the horizion. Plus it does play all the GBA games. Graphically the DS is more powerful than the N64 by a little.

I'm afraid it might get smoked like some doob in a Cheech and Chong flick by the Sony PSP. Although having differing consumer bases and price points may help even the score.

Hopefully Nintendo goes ahead with the rumored DS wireless online. That would be awesome with many of the upcoming games like Metroid and Mariokart looking very nice multi-player

hmm, is it really worth it to buy a DS with Mario 64 DS, when I still have Mario 64 on my N64? I usually really like Nintendo and it's products, but right now I don't see enough games on the horizon in which I'm interested.

I definately hope Nintendo will bring some new adventure and rpg games on the market and not just remakes of populair old ones

Yes.
In Mario 64 DS, you now have to collect 150 stars, you can play as either Mario, Luigi, Wario or Yoshi, there are HEAPS of mini games, multiplayer, new levels, heaps of new secrets, new powers, and some of the worlds have even been slightly changed.
The game is great, and yeah, I was dissapoineted with the ammount of games available, but thats ok, because there are plenty almost ready, such as Mario Kart, the Metroid games, and a heap of others

Worst thing I can dis the DS about is that the metal clips on the strap for the metal case are not built strong enough. I wanted to ask my son how he liked it as he got it for his January birthday. Unfortunately, he hasn't put it down long enough to tell me. But maybe the fact that he gave his GBA to his 2 year old brother to play with says it all.

I saw a gag ebay auction selling a DS plus games that you can play on your TV. The item pictured was a N64 with a few games.
