I think we should take ALL suicide threats seriously the mod on that Ultima forum did the right thing and when some peoples drink and get maby lonely and have serius problems in life they should be taken seriously on what they do because some "dont care" if they live or die " buy they want to tell the friends on the forum( maby the only friends they have) that this life is no more!
So i think take it seriously all of you here, i have seen some post`s about this maby 2 and i dont like it but what can we do? we can do what that great mod on the Ultima forume did!
So mod`s look out!
I also think that many do this to get some atension or what it is called and like to be the person in the middle but who knove what shall we do? I dont knove!

I dont think it right to post a suicidal thread on any forum what so ever
If you do feel the need to express your feeling to anyone, it should be people who know you, who know your situation and people you've talked to
ofcourse that can be people who you know from a forum but never the entire forums
a lot of replies you'll get will be total crap from total stranger who don't give a ■■■■ about you but just want to say something coz everybody else does
If you DO feel the need to talk to people
Send them Private Messages
After all in a Forum it's their replies you'll read and follow advice on
by publicing such a thing in public you not only give total stranger the possibity to jugde you, which they cant, but you also obligate them to help you, which is not to be asked from strangers
So if you really do need to talk to people when you're really depressed online, find the people you talk to the most on a forum, They'll know you the best and will know how then can help you the best
Thats my plea

ps sorry for the long sentences with the loads of subsentences and crap but I've been reading Livius so sue him if you don't understand meh posteh

I don't respond to any post where someone talks about committing suicide. Since I am not a trained suicide counselor, I would most likely do more harm than good.
Were I a moderator, I would take all such posts seriously and contact either a crisis center/hotline or local law enforcement for that person.

In addition to meh last post
that was kinda unconsiderate and much to rational but it's what i think is best
i can see if you feel really down you feel like posting stuff on a forum, and dont let me stop you, but i just think it's better to talk to people who know your position better.
Know that i never read them unless i know the poster really well

I get fed up with it really fast. I just recently had to address this issue with a teenage family member. It took so much restraint not to simply advise her that if she was going to attempt suicide at least do it right. I hate losers. If you're serious, you'll get it right. Remember - serious people cut their wrists up and down, not across
I couldnt agree more. Dont talk about it , do it!!

I have to disagree Attalus. I know of at least two people who committed suicide in the past 6 months who didn't communicate their feelings to anyone (as far as I know). One of whom was actively dealing with her GP and a counsellor. The GP told me that she had probed again and again about suicidal ideation and the patient denied it on every occasion. It was only after she hung herself that her diary was discovered and she had been planning for over 6 months..
