Women love expensive things, they are extremely mercenary. Buy expensive looking jewelry & you cant go wrong. Just make sure she cant tell a zirconian from a diamond.

Not really! I think you can only but jewelry for so long before she gets bored with it, then you will have to think further about what really would suit her, as a person. Also be straight with her about getting a good deal but never tell her the actual cost.

I have to agree with LZ that not all women are the same. Personally I hate getting jewlery as a gift. I rarely wear it and the only two pieces I do wear were designed for me by the person who gave them and that's the only reason I wear them. So I think you really need to know the individual, their likes and dislikes and what their idea of a good gift is.

I'll have to agree with canadianvixen. One of my wifes prize possessions is her pearl ring. I found the pearl for the ring & a matching pendant when I was a pearl diver. We designed the settings for both pieces ourselves & it was a Xmas gift for her.
It's too bad she lost the pendant when we nearly lost the car in a river crossing in the Kimberley's.
