No cure no pay is a very interesting system that some lawyers use (Its illegal here) but I fail to see the advantages of it. Doesnt it result in everyone taking everyone to court hoping to make money? Can anyone explain the advantages of this system to me?

Hi, Velkyn. Over here, we call it the "contingency fee." Tort, that is , personal-injury lawyers, use it to get huge fees out of their victims. Say, some person wants to sue somebody for a huge amount of money, but can't afford to retain an attorney to sue them. Under a contingency-fee arrangement, a lawyer would agree to take the case, but instead of a retainer and fees, he gets a stated potion of any award, usually half to two-thirds. This often results in huge fees for the attorney. They say it lets them take cases for people that can't afford it. Critics say that it results in meritless lawsuits that are filed just to get the defendant to buy the suers off, and raises the prices of everything. My personal opinion? Two words. "Greedy Lawyers."

We have that too and I used a solicitor like that to fight a car crash claim for me
The Police didn't have enough evidence for either part invovled so I took a solicitor to try and get some compensation. I went on the "no win no fee" thing which worked out fine The solicitor took a small portion of what he got back for me Not sure what is wrong with that? He is taking the risk by working for free, a lawyer is not going to take a case he doesn't think he can win of course, but if you can't afford to pay lots of legal fees then this is your only real option. When you win he takes a small part as his fee What is wrong with that? Seems fair to me and logical
