Here's a couple of other tactics you might consider incorporating into your battle plan. If your thief is any good at setting traps, have him set all of them on either the familiar or the mage, then have the thief backstab the other. With any luck, you'll take them both out right away! In addition....

If you've found a scroll of summoning air elementals, have Aerie use this and sic it on the dwarf. The dwarf's weapon is unable to affect it, so while he is busy with it you can take out the rest of the gang and then finish him off with missile weapons. Make sure you save before doing this; there is a chance that Aerie won't be able to control the elemental and it will turn on your party.

It's easier if you don't try to fight all of them at once. Uncover just a couple when you go into the room. Head back downstairs and they will follow you. Dispatch those two and go back for more. As I recall there are 5 or 6 and you can by this method kill them off 2 by 2. I did this fight very early on and had not trouble with this technique. (That is after they wiped the floor up with my party several times when I tried to take them all on).
