Check out this site http://www.newscientist.com/hottopic...ment/quiz2.jsp take the quiz, and see how you rack up for conservation. It tells you how many planets we'd have to have if everyone lived like you did.
It said we would have to have 3 planets if everyone lived like I did. Really shocking considering I dont drive a car, recycle nearly everything, and make sure I dont use too much electricity.

Hmm, a pretty stupid test. Left out alot of things, also didn´t really rely on which power sources you use, the assests close to home, and such things.
They also said that "you do this" withouth even arguing or even taking consideration to anything or giving you any options. Sweden don´t use fossil fuels to that extent for instance, and we have alot of arcres for every person here.. Well, seems like a nice propaganda to get a book sold or read!

I think this test was created by an environmental extremist. We recycle just about everything; a big percentage of our food we grow ourselves and are very conservative about energy waste. Yet it still said it'd take 3 planets if everyone lived this way. Hmm.

quote: Not at all Roxi - it is by the New Scientist, a very well respected science journal. The point of this is not how much we recycle - think of it in these terms: the vast majority of the world's population do not have anything like the lifestyle that we are used to. If everyone demanded what we see as a right, we would be in real trouble environmentally. So next time you think you should take the car to the shops instead of walking, bear that in mind, and thank your lucky stars that you don't have to walk 6 miles with a bucket on your head just to get clean water....
