Hope or Hopeless.
I say the latter as it's not a conflict of politics, religion nor self-interest. It's a blood feud. ------------------ |

Irelands woes...I would say more than anything it is a very sad situation and ultimately futile.

The Middle east is a bloodbath waiting to happen. I don't think anyone can stop the violence there.

Agreed. It will all end in tears one way or the other. Anyone from Ireland, Norther Ireland or the Middle East here? I live in the UK, so I don't really have a right to make any swaying comments on other people's lives and future.

Ireland and the Middle East: stupider conflicts are hard to imagine. In Ireland Christian bashes Christian, in the Middle East Judaism and Islam are at each oters throats but also have the same roots and the same god. Stupid! How damn stupid, short-sighted, selfish, greedy and unreasonable can people get, dammit?
I'd like to drop a bomb on the lot of 'em - but that would just make me as stupid as they are..... And anyway, most people in both Ireland and the Middle East just want to live in peace. It's the governments and the religious maniacs, and the damn-fool 'patriots' who stir up trouble. Why?! They all know damn well that they either finish up talking and being reasonable, or finish up in a bloodbath. Where's their sodding brains? Why in the name of their gods can't they TALK and be REASONABLE NOW!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ |

I say hopless, from what I hear/see it seems neither side in either confict wants peace, what they want is to beat the other side and that does not lead to peace.
