I'm thinking about applying for that credit card now, but I'm not sure which to apply for. Capital One, Visa, Mastercard, which?

Check the interest rates and spending caps between Mastercard and Visa. They seem to be accepted pretty much everywhere. Don't go AmEx though; it's gonna flunk out within the next 5-10 years IMHO.

Don't get suckered in by tv commercials or low introductory rates. Is there a regisitration/application fee? Is there a monthly or yearly membership fee? What is the % after the introductory period. Looking at that will tell you which card you want. Check out what cards are prevalent and accepted in your area. Most places will accept Visa or Mastercard. Discover or American Express are also good choices. What it really comes down to though is how much you end up having to pay for the honor of having a particular card, not what the intial limit is or what the introductory rate is.

Well I have a card that can get air miles with. I use the TD travel visa card. I almost have enough money now for me and my wife to go out to Victoria B.C. As far as intrest rates is there a credit card out there that is any good IMO there is not. They are all out there to make a buck or two or should I say a million or two. And if you pay it off like a good person should the intrest will not feel that bad. Keep in mind that it costs me a cool 100 bucks to use it though. But it does go towards the air miles.

Happy hunting.

Don't do it, Credit cards are the spawn of Satan (well ok they're not BUT they ought to be)

Question Mark

I agree completely! Why would anyone want to borrow their own money at 18% to 21% interest? Oh, well...to each their own.

Ask anyone you know who has gotten into debt badly, in most cases it's because of credit cards. If you feel you just must have one I'd do some researching It's more likely you would get a better rate through some small unknown bank. But know all the terms, penalities, charges, when interest is compounded, ect.Making the minimum payment only accrews more debt.Say for example the minimum is 10% of the total and your interest is 19% your debt increased 9%.I'm glad to say I've never gotten one.But I've seen several people get into trouble paying something off for years that they could have saved for for 6 months or a year for and owned outright.
