Indeed he should be punished, but he was only acting out of love and protecting his children, so maybe home detention would be enough of a punishment.

I say he'll probably get about 20 years in prison. Granted I'de do the same thing in his situation, if i couldnt get enough evidence to convict him, and if i told him to leave her alone and he didnt, but ide also be aware that i was comitting a murder, and i would be ready to accept the consequences of that. So honestly i don;t think he should get any special treatment, a murder is a murder, even if he was a sick pathetic freak, that deserved it.
