I was looking over the stats of char. and it said he had 541 kills + 1 assist??

I thought he was alone.

Is there an invisible helper following him

huh??? the "assist" part is usually put there to show how many times a character has helped another character to kill an enemy. the fact that u haf one assist muz be that someone else had helped u in killing ur enemies. u are playing a solo game right?
pls answer these questions if u want to know the mystery:
1)is ur solo character a fighter or mage?
2)if ur character WAS a mage, do u remember casting any "summon fiend" or watsoever spell like this?
hope this helps............

It is possible to get assists, even in a solo game. What it means is that something else delivered the killing blow, while you did some damage. Possible ways that could happen include doors, spikes, elevators, the windmill... anything that delivers damage to you and could deliver damage to something else.

I got surprised the first time Lady Tigra (solo zenmaster) showed up with an assist. It doesn't happen often (as evidenced by your percentage), but it does happen.

To LiOn

I,m still a fighter just turned Samurai.

The only spells I have are Spirit and the low Sun.

To Bungleau

You could be right. I was fighting some priests or whatever they were in the Serpents Temple while they were standing in a doorway.

I,ve also crushed a lot of roaches in elevators. Assisting elevators in bughunt, does that count ?

Thanks for the replies

In a solo game, you get an assistance every time something kills your opponent instead of you. Bungleau has shown some examples. Another example is area effect spell. This can happen even if you are fighting a single opponent. The opponent casts Spectral Raven or something like this while he is near to death, the spell explodes when it hits you, and the opponent is killed because he was too near to you. An assistance, not a killing.
I am dreaming about a solo game without any assistances. I was unsuccessful so far...

Nice one

But actually roaches, rats, fireflies, etc. have only 1 hit point. Therefore it is in fact not possible making an assist when killing them. The first blow is always the killing one.

Unless perhaps the toughen spell can be cast on them first

Oh I just love far-fetched discussions!!!
