It's hard to tell from the pic, Robert, but he may have an abscess or infection going on there too. I hope you can get him to the vet soon!

I'm really trying. My back's against the wall, and I'm doing everything I can. Asking for help really rubs against my grain, but the cat's miserable, and it's not helping me that I can't help him.

I know you wouldn't ask if it wasn't desperate. I've already pm'd you about it but I forgot to mention that you might try finding a vet that will let you pay in installments so you could get Kitty in right away. It's not easy but if you've got a vet you already know, it's possible to ask- all he/she can do is say no and maybe they'll say yes.

The only vet I know personally is through someone else, but she's in Kentucky. Unfortunately, the K states aren't close enough together for the walk.

How much money does this kind of thing cost Robert? Is it a money or mobility problem you have with this?

Really sorry to see those pics, hopefully it's not too serious.

Shamrock, I think it's mostly a cashflow issue.
And this sort of thing can get pricey. There'll be the office visit fee, any antibiotics or other in office treatment and probably some antibiotics/other meds he'll have to administer at home and depending on how serious it is (with cats you can't tell just from looking most times- infections can be very deep and not appear as serious as they are) the cat may need a follow-up visit.

It's very definitely a cashflow issue. I've been unable to work for about a year, and while I'm basically living off of my mom, she's doing all that she can do. I don't have any kind of provisions for emergencies, as my income is basically mom, and anything my site might generate, which lately has been next to nothing. I knew that was a gamble when I started it, but for 12.00 a month, I have to at least try. The cat is hurting, and it's having an adverse affect on my health too, since he's my only local friend...one I see all the time. I've been fighting this whole issue for a long time, and it really kills me to ask for any help at all.

Perhaps you could PM me how much would be helpful in this situation Robert?

As an aside, I've got a ton of webspace for a year that I've paid for and is currently sat doing nothing much at all.

I can have multiple accounts created on the machine in question and have got 20GB of space with 1TB a month bandwidth - assuming that it's possible to direct more than one domain to a single server, I'd be more than happy to host your site for free if it would be helpful.
