According to this CNN article Marvel's going to kill him off. Who's to say if they don't put someone else in the costume, or find some way to resurrect him, but it just doesn't seem right, imo...

It doesn't. I saw it this morn on yahoo news. I have a feeling they'll do a reborn thingy or put someone else in the costume like you said.

To think that the first comic book mags I bought where silver surfer and captain America oohhhhh so many years ago (about 35!!!!)

Unfortunately marvel do this, for male and female chars. In Spiderman you see it alot. It is annoying to me personally, since all I wanted was a good story and they're showing Spideys ripped abs and flexible body in his skintight suit at every opportunity they find. But yes, marvel has added alot of sex appeal to their array of heroes, male anmd female.
