Well, about 8 more days of summer job, then I have to get ready to move a whole load of crap back down south a bit for college.

I'm looking forward to seeing my buds again, but *ugh*, I don't think I'm going to survive the class schedule this time around. My reporting class, Honors 300 level history, Honors philisophy, and Japanese 101 (which I made sure months ago I'm taking pass/fail ). Someone tell me it'll all be ok!

Well, I made a pact with myself that I'll drop one class before I give up on Japanese. I intend to keep that promise, but ugh if I have to

I need a hug!

Things will be OK

What are you majoring in? That class schedule does not sound too bad. Probably a lot of papers with Philosophy and History, but then again papers are probably easier than exams

I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time

Depending upon the professor, you assesment may be correct It *always* depends on the proff.

Well, here's my full layout:

Honors History 303 - Early America
This is taught by a wonderful proff, sort of a quasi-friend of mine. He respects my enthusiasm with history and even let me list him as a resume reference after I almost got an A in a previous class he tought (History 305. I was the only freshman in the course. Wow, almost 2 years ago already). This will be a challenging class, with loads of research and reading, but it should be interesting.

Journalism 205 - Reporting
Heh, this is part of my major sequence. Unfortunately, Public Relations (my major) is a journalism degree technically. The professor is an ass, the class is unreasonably tough (from what I've heard from buds). This will be a thorn in my side, as you will have to write innane stories and actually do leg-work research on a few of them.

The journalism department hates Public Relations specializations. If they could, they'd kill us all

Astronomy 101
Ah, the essence of the general education requirement. I have to nail this one down sometime, and since a friend of mine is taking it (along with that history class) I figure why not.

Honors Philosophy 201 - Great Ideas of Human Civilization
An analyzation and discussion of some of the more interesting examples of human conceptual thought. Plato's and other greco-roman works will be here, along with Nietsche (I bet I butchered the poor man's name), and other modern works along the lines of Fredrich Douglas and Ghandhi. Interesting. I hear the teacher is relatively friendly. This is definitely the expendable class though. If things get rough, this one dies.

Japanese 101
An intense immersion into the ground rules of Japanese language in both speaking, writing, and reading. Culture will also be heavily covered. Most language students call the first 4 weeks of JAPN 101 as "the month of hell."

15 hours total. I kept it light for obvious reasons. I'm *determined* to learn that language, because I have specific ideas of what I want for a job

Thanks Moni/Lioness, that means a lot

I'm a rather studious/hard working student, but there is a limit to my industriousness. If I cross that line, I start experiencing burnout. That's basically what I'm trying to prevent. I'm glad for the confidence boost

Noooo!!! You can't drop the philosophy class! I was a philosophy major, so I'll tutor you if you want (although I doubt you will need it, what with taking the honors level courses!) And yes...there are things you can do with that major...I just don't happen to be doing any of those things right now...hehe
Seriously though, good luck with the schedule. It sounds very interesting!
