Short answer is 'NO"
Trying to get to Raskallion is a long long journey - not too difficult if you have cleared the Stout Mines already just long is all Enjoy Having an Assassin as a character opens up new "skills" to acquire thru the guilds - most enjoyable I personally will try a Solo character next games and get him to Assassin as soon as possible cos I think the assassin character is Very Very Good

Now Featherstone, we generally don't spoil too heavily... do we?
The best site for walkthroughs is Xignal's site, where he's got a nice hint system developed. You can get a general hint, specific hint, or the actual answer to most of the things that you run into. And our own Best Tips thread is a collection of varying and random bits and pieces of information about playing W&W that can spoil you heavily... except for the fact that there's so much of it that you'll likely forget a large part of it when you get back to the game

Yes, Raskalion is in the Stout Mines. No, you don't need to do the whole mines again.
(Now, I shoud foul the post with "spoiler ahead", dots, slashes, etc. but I will not do it ) When you investigated Stout Mines, you have seen two points on the trolley railroads. Most likely, you have found out that each points has it's control room. Therefore, set the points to Raskalion.

radek is correct, but you'll have to go through a long and winding route in order to get to where Raskalion is standing, and if u wanna get the Assasin's dagger from the 'rat dude', just ignore his talkings and slash at him. he isnt very tough so dun worry!

Do you still get the assassin's dagger even if you haven't completed the quest?
I would have thought it would be a special treasure, and would not be dropped.

That one will not work. If killed Scanthril only drops a skull dagger. It looks exactly like the assassin's dagger but it is not. Furthermore it is cursed.

Lionheart, now you are directing Maestro to the biggest blunder he can ever do and you must know it. Why?
Let's make the things clear: 1. If you kill Scanthrill, he will drop a Skull Dagger (a bad dagger, moreover, a cursed one) and NOT the Assassin's Dagger. The Assassin's Dagger as well as the Assassin role are lost for you! 2. AFAIK, you must complete the quest. Otherwise, Scanthrill will find out that you are lying (saying him that you have done the Job) and he will not give you the dagger. Or, you tell him the truth (I havn't done the Job) and you do not get the dagger. 3. You can kill Scanthrill (he deserves it for sending you to the Boogre Prison) but only after getting the Assassin's Dagger. You will get his Skull Dagger and some ordinary items. You can sell the loot. DO NOT kill Scanthrill until you get the dagger!
