I stand blind in darkness
I can see nothing, nothing at all Or is there more than nothing to see? Is there anything in this dark world? I do not know, I cannot see Anything, everything, all is obscured I strain my eyes, yet all stays the same As before - nothing Nothing Suddenly, a spark appears A light! It grows, it shines Warming eyes long unused A friendly light, it makes The darkness around it seem less Then suddenly, the light disappears The darkness closes in Malevolent, oppressive, nothingness I strain my eyes, I look for the light It is gone, it won't come back Then it strikes me, why am I waiting? I reach out my hand, and the darkness retreats A light grows there, weak at first But growing stronger, unwavering As my confidence grows The darkness is now No more than that Simply a place where the light does not reach Do not wait for a light in the darkness Make your own light shine for you ------------------ Kazara Sapphire Dragoness of ALSB Waitress at Cloudy's Cafe Guardian of the Temple of Aerie (specialized in GenCon and BG) Most Illustrious Arch-Magess of the Illuminati Lux omnis est |

Oh, Kaz! Those are WONDERFUL! I'll have to dig up some of my more 'happy' poems, now.

Ye gods, I'm beginning to feel like poetry is coming out of my ears!
I stand in an empty gray world All is dead, all is gone No life, no song or laughter here No sunshine and no nightfall Even the sky is a flat gray Muffling sounds, killing emotion I stand there, time does not pass There is nothing, nothing here Then a spark appears from grayness Grows, bringing warmth and light To a cold and empty world It shines, it glows in many colors Sparkling, whizzing through the air I stare at this thing in wonder As it dances, whirls and spins Bringing hope to hopelessness Bringing color to the grayness I cannot help it, I reach out To touch the light A voice inside me tells me no Yet I do not listen As my fingers touch the spirit It seems to pop it disappears Leaving a faint cry swallowed by the gray sky I stare at where the light once was It is gone, forever gone I have destroyed it, irrevocably I am doomed, doomed to exist For always in this dead gray world I scream no, yet the sound Is killed by the hopelessness I cannot leave, I cannot die I cannot even hope for release Forever ------------------ Sapphire Dragoness of ALSB Waitress at Cloudy's Cafe Guardian of the Temple of Aerie (specialized in GenCon and BG) Most Illustrious Arch-Magess of the Illuminati Lux omnis est |

This Will Make You Wanna Cry . . . > > Jenny was so happy about the house they had > found. >For once in her life 'twas on the right side > of town. >She unpacked her things with such great > ease. >As she watched her new curtains blow in the > breeze. >How wonderful it was to have her own room. >School would be starting, she'd have friends > over soon. >There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was > so happy >It's just the way she wanted her life to be. >On the first day of school, everything went > great. >She made new friends and even got a date! >She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm > going to be, >Because I just got a date with the star of > the team!" >To be known in this school you had to have a > clout, >And dating this guy would sure help her out. >There was only one problem stopping her > fate. >Her parents had said she was too young to > date. >"Well, I just won't tell them the entire > truth. >They won't know the difference; what's there > to lose?" >Jenny asked to stay with her friends that > night. >Her parents frowned but said, "All right." >Excited, she got ready for the big event >But as she rushed around like she had no > sense, >She began to feel guilty about all the lies, >But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight > ride? >Well the pizza was good, and the party was > great, >But the moonlight ride would have to wait. >For Jeff was half drunk by this time. >But he kissed her and said that he was just > fine. >Then the room filled with smoke and Jeff > took a puff. >Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that > stuff. >Now Jeff was ready to ride to the point >But only after he'd smoked another joint. >They jumped in the car for the moonlight > ride, >Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. >They finally made it to the point at last, >And Jeff started trying to make a pass. >A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all >(and by a pass, I dont mean playing > football). > >"Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am >too young.Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb." >With all of her might, she pushed Jeff away: >"Please take me home, I dont want to stay." >Jeff cranked up the engine and floored the > gas. >In a matter of seconds they were going too > fast. >As Jeff drove on in a fit of wild anger, >Jenny knew that her life was in danger. >She begged and pleaded for him to slow down, >But he just got faster as they neared the >town. >"Just let me get home! I'll confess that I > lied. >I really went out for a moonlight ride." >Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash. >"Oh God, Please help us! We're going to > crash!" >She doesn't remember the force of impact. >Just that everything all of a sudden went > black. >She felt someone remove her from the twisted > rubble, >And heard, "Call an ambulance! These kids > are in trouble!" >Voices she heard...a few words at best. >But she knew there were two cars involved in >the wreck. >Then wondered to herself if Jeff was all >right, >And if the people in the other car were >alive. >She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad. >"You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty > bad." >These voices echoed inside her head, >As they gently told her that Jeff was dead. >They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do. >But it looks as if we'll lose you too." >"But the people in the other car!?" Jenny > cried. >"We're sorry, Jenny, they also died." >Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've > done >I only wanted to have just one night of > fun." >"Tell those people's family, I've made their > lives dim, >And wish I could return their families to >them." >"Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied, >And that it's my fault so many have died. >Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that >for me?" >The nurse just stood there -- she never >agreed. >But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes >And a few moments later Jenny died. >A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do > your best >To bid that girl her one last request?" >She looked at the man with eyes oh so sad. >"Because the people in the other car were > her mom and dad." A cry in the wilderness...
Is it some wounded animal calling for help? Is it a hungry hunter calling for death? Is it a wolf calling for its mate? No, it is me crying out in anguish. ------------------ The day we stop learning is the day we start dying!(c) Co-Owner/Operator of the Evil Petting Zoo and devout member of the HADB clan. Tears' Fountain
When you feel unaware, lost, out of place Walking toward a path, a simple straight line Looking ahead, seeing a structure, ancient, old, magnificent Pleasing to thine eyes, soothing to your emotions You see and stay awhile, beside the Tears' Fountain (Wolfgir)- When a bright future shines ahead Never lacks luster, stable and sturdy Until one is lured away by forgetfulness The other, losing the other, hurt, you walk aimlessly, but in a straight line You arrive and stay awhile, beside the Tears' Fountain (Ryan)- When someone you hold dear, someone you hold freely Wanders away, never realizing the affection offered to her, or ignorance it is It never did work out like a well-oiled machine in the first place Running in circles, then going in a straight line, you start to see, start to be enlightened You strive to stay awhile, beside the Tears' Fountain This is where the rainbow ends, where the pot of gold lies The end of all tragedy and of grief Peace and serenity is all that is seen Plus a few, and a little more of the unknown Tears' Fountain attempts to focus a lost soul, into the right direction. The one with the ( ) are the stanzas I based it on their experiences. ------------------ Chaotic Cavalier of ALSB, protector of the Innocent, slayer of the mad... |
