Wow, we had a professional company video tape our wedding and we just got the results back in the form of 5 DVDs. I am blown away!

We have the whole ceremony and recpetion from 2 different angles and I was wearing a wireless mike so you can hear the whole thing like it was that day again. Plus they interveiw our family and friends, man talk about some tear jerker moments!

We watched alot tonight, our two month anniversary and I am so happy I just had to share.

P.S. anyone know any good video editing software?

There's plenty of video editing programs if you google for it, except from what i saw they are all pretty expensive. Some are over 500$. The good part is that most of these programs have free trial periods, so take your pick.

Adobe Premiere is one of the best, but you'll pay a premiere price for it.

Of course, you can't really put a price on your wedding memories, now can you?

My friend uses this one and says it's just as good as Premiere

but he also says football (soccer) is the greatest fun in the universe so I don't know how reliable he is...

Thanks ya'll!!! Boy I'm drunk!

Well I have used photoshop religiously since version 3.0 so Premiere maybe the best bet as I know adobe rocks.... though I am now on the strictest possible budget ( you can only imagine what two pro videographers cost- we skipped +$1000 more just for them to do an edited DVD!!!!) so the same or similiar functionality as premeiere but cheaper maybe better.

Oh yeah I need the power to do fairly complex sound editing as well. Like taking a song from one vidoe clip and putting over an intro montage. Does Premeiere have this sort of power or am I asking for too much?

That's great to hear Chewbacca, DVD's are the new age thing.
I'm sorry but I don't know any editing software.

congrats on the wedding, sorry to hear it was so expensive I would also recomend the premiere but if you are low on funds, go to a computer store and ask them for advice they may be able to show you some software on the cheap shelf that works just as good

That's great, Chewie! I know what you mean about the cost! We had to forgo the professional for the video but a friend who was in the wedding, set up his camera pretty much in one place at the ceremony, but we saw most of it and heard it all, so I'm pretty pleased.

It sounds like you have some fantastic memories with those dvd's!!! I hope you find a good edit program.

Jim and I are going to have our tape copied then put the original someplace safe and try to have the copy put on dvd, but we aren't sure where to go to have it done.

For best longevity copy to DVD, video tape doesn't last very long.
