I give up! I think it's easier for my health if I just go out an dbuy a new CD drive!!

The silly CD drive is driving me up the wall. I tried doign a full install off the HD, got a bad CRC error for one of the files. Tried installing off the CDs, I get 2 CRC errors, one each for the MovCD.bif files in CD2 & CD3. To add insult to injury, the installation was hung at CD3...

It sounds like you might now have a corupted disk. I had pretty much the same problem with the CD-Rom. I just went out and replaced it

No, I don't think it is a corrupted CD - I was playing BG2 on a recommened install and everything was fine until the last weekend when I started getting these problems. I suspect that the CD-ROM drive is not reading properly, as other CDs, even music CDs, are affected. Sometimes the drive just won't recognise whatever CD is inserted and I get a "device not ready" message when I try to open it, or look at the contents using Windows Explorer.

Cup holder? Of course not! (miffed)

I only use it to hold the beer and ale that I order fromthe BG2 bar...
