I was hoping that someone here could give me some help on a problem I have encountered in chapter 4.
I solved the puzzle room, but the staircase did not appear. I stepped on all 3 correct squares, but nothing happened. So, I went looking online for help, nothing I could see. The only thing that may be at issue is I could not give the extract potion to the hermit in the little house in the 1st cave. I got the stuff before talking to him, and when I went to see him the 1st time he acted as though I had already seen him and I had no idea how to give him the stuff. Perhaps that is affecting what occurs in the puzzle room. And thoughts suggestions? thanks djj |

/ / / / / / / / / / / / That hermit has long toes, so if you say the wrong thing to him, he wont take the potion. You need the exact dialogue tree. I don't remember wich one it was. It has been a long time since i played the game. Maybe somebody else will know. The puzzle room is unrelated to this. After you stepped on the plates you need to go back to the previous room. The one with the table. Let your thief detect traps and the hammer of one of the statues should light up, like if it was trapped. Use that hammer and go back to the puzzle room and the stairs should now be visable.
